Client window ignores keyboard input on macOS Monterey
Sometimes a client running on macOS Monterey ignores keyboard events, in the GUI (e.g. login panel) as well as when connected to the remote desktop. The problem is caused by a missing activation event, that should be received when the window is created and initialized.
The normal functionality can be restored by changing the current active window before going back to the client window.
